Uxue del Rio Laboa

 ARTIST’S PROFILE

Uxue del Río is an illustrator and visual artist from Donostia–San Sebastián. Her work focuses on observing the everyday and capturing it through a personal lens, combining both digital and traditional techniques.

She develops her own products based on her illustrations — such as art prints and limited-edition T-shirts — and collaborates with brands on graphic and creative projects, including Pukas Surf Shop and Colors of Basque Country.

Her practice explores how the everyday can be transformed into image, using illustration as a means to reinterpret the world around us. She currently combines her artistic work with the direction of her own creative agency, where she develops design and visual communication projects for various brands.

“During her residency, Uxue del Río aims to create a space for pause and personal reconnection, setting aside daily obligations to listen inwardly. Her intention is to create from intuition and the innocence of her inner child, without commercial purpose, exploring analog techniques such as painting and allowing creativity to surprise her.“
