Antonella Ferrari

ARTIST’S PROFILE

Antonella Ferrari is an Argentine writer and actress based between Buenos Aires and New York. She studied Fine Arts at the Universidad Nacional de las Artes (UNA), specializing in art history and drawing, a visual foundation that continues to inform her narrative voice.

In recent years, alongside her work in film and television, she has increasingly devoted herself to writing, developing short films, independent projects, and short stories. She is currently completing her first novel.

The novel follows the voice of a young girl who grows up convinced she is destined to become a saint — or at least that is what she believes. Beneath this premise lies a deeper exploration of what it meant to grow up in Argentina during the 2000s: a generation largely raised by nannies, shaped by working parents, academic competition, and the social tensions that would culminate in one of the country’s most severe economic crises.

Read about Antonella‘s residency project below in her words…

My intention during this residency is to immerse myself in the final stage of my novel Ana while working in a different environment. Living in New York can be exciting but also overwhelming, and I hope this time away will allow me to approach the project with greater focus and clarity, and to deepen my understanding of the story.
