“While at La Moissie I plan to make observational paintings of the landscape using oil paint. Some of these works will be translated into hooked rugs when I return to my studio in Canada. I have been experimenting with how the energy and immediacy of plein air painting can be translated into the slow process of rug hooking. While at the residency I will also dye wool using material foraged from the property. These fabrics will be used in the rugs inspired by the paintings made at the residency.“
