Nora Franco

ARTIST’S PROFILE

Nora’s investigation around movement and dance is innovative, bright and captivating to see in person. Nora received her training at the Dance School of the Government of Navarra. Since then, she has continued training with many different dancers and choreographers. Her practice combines dance and movement research with other disciplines such as sculpture or performance, in which she places relevance on the body as matter and means of knowledge.

In 2022 she began a collaboration with the sculptor Lucas de la Rubia. Here at La Moissie Creative Residency she will continue her investigation around movement and the relationship between the objects and the body – specifically chairs with her project “SIT UP, STAND DOWN” How does sedentary work affect the body and mind? What other uses does a chair have? What is the relationship between the chair and the body? How can the shape of the chair affect the shape of the body?

In her words, “dance and movement are one of the most honest and direct ways of knowing, of relating to the environment, with people, and of course, of living, transforming and celebrating.”

ALBA GALOCHA & PABLO CURTO

En La Moissie di forma, junto a Pablo Curto, a uno de mis proyectos más importantes, sigue andando y construyéndose pero el camino empezó allí y, sin esas semanas de estar, no habría sido lo que es.
