Tyga Helme

ARTIST’S PROFILE

Tyga lives and works in Wiltshire, UK. She uses the directness and urgency of drawing from life as a springboard for all her work. She explores the feeling of being overwhelmed, finding her subjects in movement and in the sublime. She couples the spontaneity of the moment with returning to places over and over again, allowing memory and imagination to permeate.

She studied Fine Art and History of Art at The University of Edinburgh and then studied on the drawing year at the Royal Drawing School in London. She was the artist in residence at Sevenoaks School and has taught at the International Institute of Fine Arts, Modinagar in India. She has shown widely in exhibitions including at the Fleming Collection in London and at Christies in New York and is now represented by Messums Gallery, London.
